    Description: The campground, located near White Oak River and at the edge of a salt marsh, is a single loop with a connecting crossover road. Loblolly pine and Live oaks are widely scattered throughout. It is partially surrounded by a dense vegetation of marsh woodland. A level grass understory provides ample space for tents and field games. During the summer be prepared for some mosquitoes, ticks, and chiggers. The campground is 4 miles from some pleasant, publicly accessible Atlantic Ocean beaches. It is also within 3 miles of the Intracoastal Waterway and is an exceptional base camp for canoeing. Each camp site has a lantern pole. All in all, this is a great campground for bird watching, hiking, fishing, ocean beaches, canoeing, shopping, and restaurants - lots to see and do or just relax.

    Description: The campground is a single loop in a stand of mature Loblolly pines and various hardwoods next to the Neuse River. Some camp site have a view of the River and the far shoreline. The sites tend to be close together which makes it nice for group or family gatherings. The campground is far enough away from Cherry Point US Naval Reservation and US Rt. 70 making noise from either of these two places minimal. This is a quiet campground with heavy understory providing good privacy for some camp sites. Although on the Neuse River, except for swimming, the wide range of water sports offered by the river must be accessed elsewhere
