Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)

Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point is home to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing as well as the Marine Aircraft Group 14, the Combat Logistics Company 21, and the Fleet Readiness Center (East). Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point is located in Havelock, North Carolina and is located about 20 miles from the Atlantic beaches. The major mission at Marine Corp Air Station Cherry Point is to support the 2d Marine Aircraft Wing to be ready to deploy at any time, to fight in combat anywhere, and when not in combat, to improve the quality of life for all service members. Housing is available for military personnel and their families at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. Military personnel must complete an application for housing at the Commanding General, Housing Department, within 30 days of arrival. Waiting times vary, and the housing office should have a current list of available properties and how long it will be before applicants are assigned to appropriate housing. There was a mobile home park at MCAS Cherry Point but it is currently being decommissioned. Many units are being replaced or renovated, so the exact number of housing units available is not available. Contact the housing office for the most recent information. Service members on PCS orders can obtain billeting in the Transient Enlisted Quarters on a space-available basis.
Housing on a temporary basis is provided in both the Officers’ and Enlisted Transient lodging facilities on a 24 hour, 7 day a week basis. Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance, and if temporary housing is full, military personnel can request a statement of “non-availability” and then obtain housing in a local hotel or motel. No pets are allowed in transient housing facilities on Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. The Transient Officers’ Quarters are located in Building 467 and can be reached by calling 252-466-5169.
